Wysteria Edwards is a native of Washington State. She holds her degrees in Education and Theater from Whitworth University (BA) and Washington State University (Ed.M) Masters in Reading and Literacy. After participating in the theater for over 25 years, she began the journey of crafting her first script, BROKEN THREAD. Broken Thread marked her debut as a playwright in Chicago, where she served as a Resident Playwright/Literary Manager for URBANTHEATER COMPANY. Along with her original work, Wysteria has also adapted many novels and picture books for the stage. Many are licensed through YOUTHPLAYS.com. Her first children's book, Bethany Bubbles Makes a Mistake in collaboration with illustrator Jason Abbott was published by Eloquent Publishing. She is a member of the Dramatist’s Guild of America, Theater for Young Audiences, Chicago Dramatists, International Centre for Female Playwrights and Northwest Playwright’s Alliance. Wysteria has studied privately under Stuart Spencer (NYC), and has participated in workshops with playwrights, such as: Steven Diez and through The Lark Play Development Center, NYC. She is currently teaching Kindergarten in Pasco, WA.
